- Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Remember someone special with a memorial or tribute gift to Washburn Center for Children. All memorial and honor gifts will be acknowledged through a personal note sent by Washburn Center for Children to the honored person(s). If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution in memory, tribute, or honor of someone, or to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, or wedding, please e-mail Amy Pfarr Walker.
- Bequests
One of the simplest ways to make a planned gift is a bequest through your will in which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate after other disbursements. In addition to supporting Washburn Center for Children, it showcases your values and ideas to your heirs. A bequest also can reduce the amount of your taxable estate, which may increase the actual amount available to loved ones. - Stock Gifts
Both gifts of stock and closely-held stock are accepted by the agency. Additionally, you receive a tax-deduction and capital gains can be avoided. Gifts of stock, bonds, or other property that you have owned for more than one year are deductible at the full fair market value. The fair market value is based on the average of the high and low traded price of the security on the date of the gift. To donate stock, email Linda Smith.
- Matching Gifts
Your employer may offer a matching gift program. Please contact your company representative to see if they make this option available to their employees so that your gift to Washburn can make and even greater impact.
- Toy Drive
Our annual Toy Drive provides holiday gifts for families who participate in Washburn Center for Children's programs. Donations come from individuals, corporations, and other organizations. In 2010, gifts were provided for nearly 400 children.
