Intensive in-home therapy is available for families whose children are experiencing social, emotional and behavioral difficulties and who need more intensive services in order to prevent out of home placement and increase stability across settings. These children, ages five to 17, are experiencing significant difficulties at home, in school and in the community.
Therapists collaborate with parents in the home setting to improve family functioning and help children develop strategies that will enable them to live successfully at home and in the community. During this six to nine month intensive therapy, Washburn Center’s staff also consults with school staff and other agencies involved with the family to coordinate care across settings and identify other resources.
Intensive in-home services are provided primarily in all of Hennepin and Ramsey Counties, parts of Anoka County (Anoka, Blaine, Centerville, Circle Pines, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Hilltop, Lexington, Spring Lake Park) and Dakota County (Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Lakeville, Lilydale, Mendota, Mendota Heights, Rosemount, South St. Paul, Sunfish Lake, West St. Paul).
