Washburn Center teams up with the Greater Twin Cities United Way to get kids new backpacks and supplies to start the year off. Backpacks and school supplies are divided between elementary and middle/high school levels.
The event is held by United Way and the main opportunity for volunteers is helping transport backpacks to Washburn Center after the August 9 event. If you are willing to volunteer for transport, please contact our team via email.
Washburn Center hosts a drive to help outfit kids with proper winter coats as we head into the chilly season.
This drive focuses on gathering new items that will keep kids warm from infant through teen years. There is also an opportunity for supporters to donate handmade scarves or mittens for children or gift cards that help a family purchase winter gear.
We’d love to hear from you if you can plan to share the warmth of generosity later this year. Please reach out to our team via email, if you’d like to be included in this year’s drive.
Holiday Toy Drive
Washburn Center hosts a toy drive for kids and families served by Washburn Center.
Each year on the approach to holidays for all traditions, our community gives generously so that our staff can spread the joys of the season to clients, their siblings and caregivers.
This gift drive focuses on gathering new items that will fuel fun and play for kids from infants through teen years. There is also an opportunity for supporters to donate gift cards that help a family choose gifts for kids or to help plan a family feast or celebration.
We’d love to hear from you if you can plan to create joyful moments later this year for families who are healing through Washburn’s services. Please contact our team via email, if you’d like to be included in this year’s giving.
